Anaesthesia provides anaesthetic services to surgical, obstetric, radiology, and psychiatry and gastroenterology endoscopy. It provides preoperative assessment and consultation. It provides analgesia services to the labour ward and an acute pain service in the hospital. It also provides resuscitation, trauma management and a central venous access service. It provides registrars a rotation to ICU, District and Rural hospitals and the New Children's Hospital Westmead.
The main purpose and responsibilities of this role will include:
* Provision of Anaesthesia and Related Clinical Services
* Provision of I.C.U Services
* Rotation to hospitals including Rural Metropolitan and Specialist Hospitals
* Satisfactory progress in training for F.A.N.Z.C.A
* Registrars will be allocated work according to the rosters developed by the Senior Registrar and the Director of Anaesthesia.
* Registrars will work at all times under the supervision of a Senior Anaesthetist or Fellow in Anaesthesia.
